Qwirkle consists of 108 wooden blocks with six different shapes in six colors. Each tile has an illustration on the back (circle, eight-point star, four-point star, square, clover, or diamond). Each symbol appears in six different colors (red, yellow, orange, green, blue, and purple). In total, the game has three tiles each of 36 possible combinations of color-symbol. To help ensure you do not miss any tiles in between games, Qwirkle equipped with a drawstring storage bag.
As in Scrabble, the game starts with players drawing their own “hands” of six tiles. The player with the most tiles that share something in common (color or symbol) to play their pieces and win points. And so it goes until the pieces to make a giant box. One of the adult rules may be necessary to repeat for small children is that the tiles do not count duplicates. For example, if a person has three diamonds, and two of them are green, they can only count one of their diamonds for points.
A typical game lasts about 45 minutes Qwirkle – longer when you first learn how to play – and the player is likely to catch on the rules in no time at all.
